Green Energy Markets (GEM) is a dynamic research and advisory business established in 2008 with a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing renewable energy and distributed generation, and improving energy efficiency. Our services are directed at sustainable energy businesses, government and government agencies, energy producers and energy consumers.

Addressing the challenge of climate change will require unprecedented changes in the way we produce and use energy. Sustainable energy will feature much more strongly in our future energy mix, including a significant expansion in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Key measures committed by Commonwealth and State Governments will drive the development and growth of sustainable energy in Australia. Central initiatives being implemented include market-based measures such as the Renewable Energy Target, which in 2011 will provide support for both small-scale and large-scale renewable generation projects in two independent schemes. The future introduction of an emissions trading scheme will also play an integral role in our transition to a carbon constrained economy.
